This bird and trout features a hammermark finished blade, 3/16" blade thickness and 1" blade depth, hidden tang construction. The handle has a copper guard followed by black, copper, white and brass spacers with an ironwood and beautiful cigar shaped fossil walrus ivory handle single pinned with copper. Comes with a black leather high ride MOSHER sheath. This knife fits well in hand and has some real character. Fit and finish is amazing, a truely beautiful knife. James Behring was born in Detroit, Michigan but grew up in rural Ray Township, Michigan playing in the woods bow hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting. As a boy he was taught by his father to hunt and fish on the lakes and forests of Northern Michigan and later the Upper Peninsula. The Behring Family had a hunting camp in the U.P., where James would spend much of his fall months. Also an avid fisherman, he discovered early in life the serenity to be found while alone in the forest or on a lake, or in a stream.
