Overview
This Camp Knife has a mirror polished stainless steel clip point blade with full tang, and was created from a WWII USMC Hospital Corpsman Knife. These were issued to cut litter poles and shelter poles. Blade stock is just under 1/4", 2-1/2" (max) depth. Handle is black walnut with brass pins and red liners. Knife is in excellent shape. Forge marks are still visible on both sides of the blade, but adds character to this big blade. Comes with light brown leather sheath with 2-way (vert/horiz) carry ability. ABOUT THE MAKER
Chappel, Rod
Rod "Caribou" Chappel named his business, "Davis Custom Knives", after his grandfather Roderick Davis. Rod began making knives around 1973, possibly earlier, and studied his craft under Gil Hibben and Harvey Draper. Rod's knives incorporate his many diverse talents, culminating in both artistic and functional designs rooted in his deep appreciation for perfection. Mr. Chappel passed away in early 2017.
