Overview
This small skinner by Rod Chappel (Davis Knives) features a mirror polished upswept blade with notched thumbrest, .181" blade stock and 1.053" blade depth, full tang construction with a mild taper. The handle has maroon linen micarta scales with black and brass liners, brass pins and lanyard hole. Comes with a leather zippered case. No sheath. Dated April 21st, 1975 on the A-side of the blade and signed on the b-side of the blade. Excellent condition.

ABOUT THE MAKER
Chappel, Rod
Rod "Caribou" Chappel named his business, "Davis Custom Knives", after his grandfather Roderick Davis. Rod began making knives around 1973, possibly earlier, and studied his craft under Gil Hibben and Harvey Draper. Rod's knives incorporate his many diverse talents, culminating in both artistic and functional designs rooted in his deep appreciation for perfection. Mr. Chappel passed away in early 2017.
