The mark on the blade is ARM-KO KNIVES, as it was designed by A.R. Mahomedy and made by his son, H.A.R. Mahomedy. The Generation 1 D'Urban (original spelling of the founder of Durban, South Africa) Shark made its debut at the Durban Easter Knife Show, 2004 and the Generation 2 debuted at the South African Knifemaker's Guild Show in September of 2004. The blade is hollow ground, 3/16 inch thick with an aluminum oxide blast finish to reduce glare. A curved thumb rest, extended guard and index finger groove afford a firm grip. Tapered full tang. The blade has a few minor scratches due to insertion in and extraction from the Kydex sheath. A shark's tooth is threaded through the nylon lanyard. Blade Steel: N690 High Carbon Stainless Steel @ Rc 58-59

Visit this maker's website: ARM-KO Knives. Custom knives made and exported under the name ARM-KO KNIVES, for the father (A.R. [Abdur-Rasheed] Mahomedy) and son (H.A.R. [Humayd Abdur-Rasheed] team. Being exposed from a very early age to working with KNIVES and being brought up in a home where respect for these TOOLS was ingrained and just as important as good care for them, it was only natural that HUMAYD (pronounced HOO-MAY-YED) would take to KNIFE MAKING like a duck to water.Presently he shares a well laid out Shop with his Father, who is a part-time Maker. His Knives are currently made via the Stock-removal method with his own in-house HEAT TREATING, that sees him achieve Rockwell 60 - 62 on the Hardness scale with specific steels. His repertoire includes HUNTERS, TACTICAL - both FOLDERS and FIXED BLADES, FIGHTERS, SWORDS and even COLLECTABLES. N690 STAINLESS STEEL is used on the majority of his PERFORMANCE CEREMONIAL KNIVES, with 440 C, 440 A, 12 C 27, ATS 34, RWL 34 amongst the fine other KNIFE STEELS.
