Overview
Ikebana is a Zen flower arranging style that strives for simplicity and naturalness. So as to maintain the freshness of the flowers, the stems are cut under water using this shape of knife. This technique will also work for traditional Western flower arranging. This knife may also be used for a wide variety of woodworking tasks. Blade Steel: Forged 5160 Acid Etched
ABOUT THE MAKER
Roeder, David
My name is David Roeder. I am a Journeyman Smith knifemaker of the American Bladesmith Society. I have been forging knives since 1996 and always continue to learn and expand my methods and techniques to better my work. I use primarily 5160 for my mono steel blades, but sometimes divert and use other steels depending on their intended jobs. I also make my own Damascus. I like the standard 1095 / 1084 and 15n20 mostly when I am making my Damascus, it gives a good migration of carbon and also has good edge retention.
