Overview

This SM-100 fixed blade features a unique heat colored finish, a blade thickness of 1/8" and a blade depth of 1 5/8". Knife is new from maker and comes in a black, kydex sheath. Below is what the maker has to say about the knife:

I designed this fixed-blade for Ran Fiennes’ historic winter Antarctic crossing along with Kobold Expedition Tools and have slightly refined it since then (we affectionately call it the Little Bastard).  Their main concerns were corrosion resistance and the ability to be easily sharpened in the field.  The blade is SM-100 (60 HRC) which is a nickel-titanium guaranteed never to corrode in salt water and readily sharpens.  The colored oxide pattern makes it as unique as a fingerprint.  It also weighs 20% less than steel and is completely non-magnetic – which makes it a great tactical tool.  Brand new and comes with a Kydex sheath. Blade Steel: SM-100

About the Maker

EB Custom Knives

I have been a knife enthusiast for a long time, and have been a maker for the past several years. I got into it because I had a lot of people asking me to make them prototypes out of CPM steels or SM-100 (I used to work for Crucible and Summit Materials), and I finally decided to take the plunge into offering my knives for general sale. I use the stock removal method and start out with unfinished bars of steel. I do everything in house unless I get the profile water jetted to shape (also, some steel I get heat treated by Peters Heat Treat). I prefer to work with stainless steels or SM-100, although I am a huge fan of CPM 3V as well for when you want the toughest knife you can get. I typically make knives that are intended for use so my designs are utilitarian.
