About the Maker

Cohea, John

John Cohea is a frontier style knife maker and leather worker. He has been crafting knives for over 22 years. He uses natural handle materials of bear jawbone, fossilized walrus tusk, sambar stag, elk antler or ornamental hardwoods. The bolsters, and guards are made of forged wrought iron, many times using age-correct period steel, such as chain links or wagon-wheel hoops, adding to authenticity of the blade. John passed away in 2022.

Winston, David

David sold his first knife in 1984. He makes folders and straight knives, made from D2, S30V, CPM 154, 1095 and his own damascus steel. All blades are hardness tested to ensure proper heat treat. All knives carry a satisfaction guarantee.
