Overview
Although not marked, John advises that this Sicarri is the prototype for future versions. The spine of the blade thickens as it flows back from the tip, to 3/16" at the front of the scales, going to 1/4" the rest of the way back to the end of the handle. The angled handle provides a nice grip with the elevated thumb ramp and index finger guard. The cut-out in the blade belly is not sharpened, allowing an additional index finger position. The matchup of micarta and ironwood for the scales is quite nice. Thong hole. Strong, solid and well balanced. Blade Steel: 5160 Steel - Satin Finish
ABOUT THE MAKER
Dervish Knives (John Gonzalez)
My interest in knives and swords began in adolescence, but it wasn’t until the late 1990’s when I discovered my passion for custom knives. I was initially drawn to tactical pieces, but my approach to knife making is largely inspired via the myriad of elegant and lethal designs from diverse cultures and eras. Due to my background in graphic arts and illustration, designing knives has always been the easiest part of knife making for me. Aspiring to create aesthetically pleasing knives which excel in both form and function, I draw heavily on time-tested designs, geometries, and materials . I currently reside in southern Colorado, where I enjoy hiking, fishing and spending time with my wife and son.
