Overview
From a private collection. No additional information available on the maker, but this is a nice smaller hunter/utility model. Partially fileworked blade spine, 1/8 inch thickness. 13/16 inch blade depth. Fancy mosaic pins and leather thong. Exposed tapered tang. Red fiber liners. Bolster has a couple of very minor scratches. Very nice sheath. Really quite nice.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Trout, George
My name is George Trout. I started making knives in 1985. I retired from the telephone industry six years ago and have been a full time maker ever since. I use the stock removal method. About eight years ago, I discovered the wonderful world of forged knives and about three and a half years ago I started making full in integrals using a milling machine. I usually have all three types at the shows I attend and I use most common steels. I do my own heat treating and like to use handle materials like stag, ivory, wood, micarta, sheep horn, and others. I make my own sheaths individually for each knife.
