Overview
Hand sanded blade and handle with further light polishing of the stag handle. The blade was hardened deep-frozen and tempered, resulting in an extremely strong blade with superior cutting ability. Blade is 3/16 inch thick at the spine with a depth of almost 1 1/2 inches. Stainless steel pins in the handle. The cowhide and shark skin sheath was designed, crafted and handstitched by Randy and is enhanced with a leather thong attached deer antler tip. As with all of Randy's knives, this one is made to be used as well as admired. Includes Certificate of Authenticity. Very nice.
ABOUT THE MAKER
Golden, Randy (R.R.)
Randy Golden is a rising star in the knife world. He has studied under some of the premier knife and sheath makers in the country and his popularity now sets him apart from the field. He has been recognized by Blade magazine as one of the very best hunting knife makers (December 2006), an unusually talented up-and-coming maker at the 2006 Guild show (December 2007), and one of the countries finest knife and sheath makers (January 2008). Randy retired from the Air Force after a 27 year career as a pilot and became a full time knife maker in 2000. He was inducted into the Knifemakers Guild in short order and obtained full voting status in July 2007. Randy's artistic talents and attention to detail are easily seen in the quality design and detail orientation he handcrafts into each of his knives and sheaths.
