Overview
This is a large, powerful sub-hilt fighter from the late W.W. Cronk. The spine at the forward double hilt is 3/8 inch thick, a trademark of Mr. Cronk. The top edge is sharpened approximately 4 inches back from the tip. The gray matte coating on the blade provides a non-reflective surface. Mr. Cronk used 440C, D-2 and 154CM steels during his career and the specific steel for this blade is unknown. The hilt, sub-hilt and buttcap are non-magnetic, leading us to believe these areas are of brushed titanium. The handle grip is firm due to the ribbed rubberized o-rings used. The buttcap has a thong hole. The blade depth is 1 3/4 inches. An extremely rare and remarkable knife. Note: The stitching on the sheath is a waxed thread which is coming loose in one area - however, we have elected not to attempt to repair as the future owner may wish to make and document his own restorations.
