Tomahawk - OD Green

Overview

We sat down and designed this tomahawk with no particular goal in mind, we just kind of let it develop on its own. Once we had the main profile worked out, we waterjet cut the profiles out of 3/8 thick S7 tool steel. S7 is the steel that they make jackhammer bits out of, so we figured it would hold up to this pretty well. Once we got the waterjet done, we saw a picture that RMJ tactical posted of their Hawk, it looked very familiar because it seems they have been making our head design for several years before we designed it. So, we got a hold of Ryan or RMJ Tactical fame and told him that we had copied him without meaning too and to let us know how to make it right, if that meant a design mod or scrapping the whole thing, it was up to them because we where the dumb ones. Ryan considered it for a while, being the thoughtful kinda guy that he is and told us to just go ahead and run with it. So we finished the project and offer them here for your viewing pleasure. This project is a one time deal, never to be repeated in this design. We will try to do our own work from here on! Chattanooga leather works was kind enough to make the sheaths for these and they came out great. Our hawk is not highly contoured so it will lay and pack very flat. We think that the curved handled cuts down on some of the vibrations transmitted down the handle to the user. Black Ceracoated tool steel blades, if you can break one of these, we are going to be super impressed! The only choices we have are either Green or Black peel ply G-10. They are 14.25 inches long that the tip of the spike is about 7 inches away from the cutting edge. It weighs in at about 1.5 pounds. We think they came out pretty cool, and we think you will agree.
