Overview
This New Style Skinner by the late George Herron features a high polish upswept blade, 3/16" blade stock, 7/8" blade depth. Tapered tang construction with steel guard and dark red liners. Ivory micarta scales with a beautiful scrimshaw of a "Bobcat" done by Bob Burdette. Stamped "2101" on bottom of tang and sheath. Great work. Mint Condition.

ABOUT THE MAKER
Herron, George
George Herron was a significant player in the custom knife world. He was well known for his exquisitely crafted and designed stock removal knives, he specialized in hunting knives and skinners, he has a significant collector following. He was a past president of the Knifemakers Guild and founded the South Carolina Knifemakers Guild, in 1987 he was inducted into the Blade Cutlery Hall of Fame. George passed away in 2007.
