This Hunting set by Rick Menefee features satin finished blade with false top edge and mirror polished ricassos, .133" blade stock, .877" blade depth on the hunter and 1.092" blade depth on the skinner, full tapered tangs. Both knives have jigged vintage Butterscotch paper micarta scales with black lines and hand peened and domed nickel silver pins, lanyard holes at the butt. Comes with a tan leather sheath made by Parsons. New from maker. Rick tapers tangs link no one else, and these are no different. He also doesn't like parting with his Butterscotch micarta, but we talked him out of it.

Menefee, Rick
I am a father of 2 beautiful girls. My wife is an art teacher and one of my toughest critics. I was born and raised in Oklahoma where I attended college and graduated in 1995 with a degree in Wildlife Conservation and Wildlife Law Enforcement. My day job is with the USDA as a federal trapper. I have been making straight knives since 1998 and slip-joints since early 2008 and became a Guild Member in 2006. I have been hunting and fishing from a very young age and understand the needs of the outdoorsman. I want to build a knife that is well-constructed and durable that gets the job done. I pride myself in being a fine craftsman. I focus on making fixed blades that match the contours of your hand and are an easy tool to use. My blades have thin cutting edges. I like the looks of a knife that haves no square edges and that is finely finished. You will find this to be true of both my fixed and slip-joint knives. I enjoy selecting the finest raw materials. Handle materials include pearl, ivory, bone, micarta and stabilized woods. Blades are made of 154-CM or D-2 steel. All are cryo treated to extend the life of the blade and the cutting edge. My sheaths are custom designed and crafted by Larry Parsons. I only make a limited number of knives each year and I hope you can select a knife that meets your needs.I need to acknowledge and thank all those who have helped get me where I am today including: George Englebretson, Bill Kennedy, Dan Burke, Gerald Nichols, Jerry McClure, Tony Bose and Gary Crowder."
