Overview
This Ming Chinese Imperial Guard Knife is deep sculpted with dragons and Chinese calligraphy icons. Deep engraving on the brass bolster means "Strength and War" and on the pommel the engraving means "Dragon Strength. Even the pins are deeply engraved with Chinese characters. The 12" 440C blade spine is engraved the entire length of the spine.  Blade stock is .20" and the depth is 2". The handle is ivory linen micarta with red/brass spacers.  What an extraordinary example of period reproduction artwork and detail. The leather sheath is extra heavy duty using premium hide and a Chinese dragon concho. Beautifully tooled in a texture motif. New from maker. Note: There are a few heavy scratches on the blade. Blade Steel: 440C
