Overview
Alexey Konygin has designed knives for Custom Knife Factory since 2013. While all of his designs have gained popularity amongst the collectors, some gained a legendary status. The T Series of knives were some of the most popular and are still extremely sought after to this day. To date, the T90, the smaller T92, and then the T14 are some of the best tactical knives produced by CKF and Alexey Konygin and the two have outdone themselves with the T15.
The T15 is based on the T14 but it has been significantly upgraded and improved to make the already perfect knife even better. The Custom Knife Factory T15 is an absolute beast of a knife with a perfect size to weight ratio. The handle features Alexey Konygin's signature milled lines and window cut-outs that are aesthetically beautiful and reduce the weight ever so slightly. The re-designed handle feels even better in the hand and is large enough even for Shrek's hands. A blue titanium pivot collar has been added for the first time in the T series and the knife also comes with a spare pivot collar made from brass.
The construction is simple and practical with only two screws. The handle is black stonewashed, featuring a very durable working finish that perfectly hides wear and tear. The handle is significantly improved and is now more ergonomic than ever before. The grip section is narrowed and better tapered while the corners are beveled for a secure grip and excellent feel in the hand.
The pocket clip has also been redesigned and is not only more comfortable to use, but also looks better too. The pocket clip is fitted with hidden hardware that is drilled from the internal side of the handle. For the second time in the T series (after the T14), a lanyard hole is added in a very interesting fashion, to the lock side of the frame only.
The blade is made of all-around superior M398 stainless steel, an evolution of Bohler's M390. It is a beastly blade with a razor-sharp factory edge and a devastating tip. The addition of a thumb ramp with jimping on the spine improves the grip while the flipper tab is now smaller and more ergonomic with jimping for flawless and comfortable flipping action.
Speaking of action, we have one of the best drop shut actions you can get your hands on here with glass-like smoothness. The blade fires out hard and fast, generating a resounding clunk sound that is music to any knife enthusiast's ears. On closing, once you past the detent ball the blade drops like a guillotine on its own weight.
Overall the T15 is one of the best tactical knives introduced in 2021. CKF calls it the updated T14 but there has been a significant amount of work and re-designing to keep the overall shape and profile similar but improve each and every aspect of the knife to meet 2021 standards.
The T15 comes with a complete set of spare hardware, everything down to a spare titanium pocket clip, and an additional pivot collar. You also get a high-quality Velcro carry bag with microfiber cloth and a certificate of authenticity.
