TS-87
The TS-87 Tactical Screwdriver has its roots in SOCOM Aviation, founded in 1987. Without SOCOM, the use of the Dillion Aero M134D Gatlin Gun and the need for the TS-87 would never have happened. It was created in response to the need for Armament and Crew Chiefs to always carry a “Big Freaking Screwdriver” (BFS). For this task, this product was developed by Tim Kell of T. Kell Knives (USMC), Imri Morgenstern (IDF Operator), and expert on the Dillon Aero M134D, Machine Gunner Torben Gilbert (“Torbenski,” U.S. Army). The TS-87 is designed to aid in setting up, clearing jams, maintaining all weapons systems, setting up aircraft oil to pour, ground forces door prying, and many more tasks, making the TS-87 the perfect multi tool for the warfighters’ belt, EDC carry and blue collar trade workers alike.
True to a T.Kell product, we sought to creatively integrate things into our design that we felt were missed in other similar tools to make it supremely functional. The TS-87 has an industry first bit attachment point with a detent ball to prevent bits from falling out. The integrated ring not only provides excellent grip retention, but eliminates issues that we noticed in other tools with their slim handle design. Being so narrow, they lacked the ability to get torque on hard to turn screws, so we designed the ring handle shape to make make it extra comfortable in the palm for spinning, while providing exceptional torque and minimizing bulk and weight. The TS-87 does double duty as a CQB tool if the need arises, and can be used as a take down tool for any firearm. It can even be carried discreetly as part of your EDC. We designed the sheath to fit perfectly into MOLLE webbing for easy mounting and added the T.Kell thumb ramp for rapid deployment. The grip has been crafted to melt into your hand while providing incredible ergonomics that allow for tremendous applied torque.
