About the Maker

BladesIIB Knives (Bud Beets)

BladesIIB (Blades 2 B) is a custom knife shop created by Bud Beets. The Roman Numeral II is for second generation knife maker since Marty Beets (Bud’s Dad) also makes custom knives. The 2 B’s for Bud Beets and Blades because that is what they are. The focus for the last 20 years was on fixed blade knives like his Dad, but a desire to make folders led to the creation of a new lock design, the Triple"B"S, which Bud patented in 2021. Bud was born in Arizona, and grew up in British Columbia where he worked full time as a machinist after high school, receiving his machinist journeyman certification in 1992. After that he went to college in Arizona, then joined the US Army where he served in the Military Police Corps for over 5 years. His Dad helped him make his first three knives in 2001. He currently works in the pharmaceutical industry and spends his nights and weekends in his home shop making knives. He does all his own manual machining and CNC work on each knife. All the bevels are hollow ground by hand and he does all the file work by hand. Bud also does all the heat treating and tempering on site so each knife is truly a one man creation from start to finish. Any leather work or Kydex work for sheaths is also done by Bud. Needless to say, these knives are custom made in low numbers and all his folding knives are named after Cactus you would find in Arizona. Bud hopes you enjoy his knives!
