Overview
The TOPS Knives El Pionero, designed by Ed Calderon, was inspired by the humble paring knife. The story goes something like this: Ed Calderon, when flying to a self-defense training event, wouldn't bring a knife, instead opting to purchase a new knife at his final destination. What knife did he buy, you ask? A basic paring knife for around $10, because sometimes fancier and more expensive isn't the answer. Ed claimed this little paring knife was an excellent tactical blade; not long after, he worked with TOPS to bring a non-disposable, premium equivalent to his eager fans. The El Pionero was the result, named after the knife brand that started it all. Be prepared with a good blade and a good story when you carry this trusty, USA-made fixed blade!
- Blade: Straight-spine blade made from 1095 high carbon steel with a tumbled finish.
- Handle: Tan canvas micarta handle scales on a full tang.
- Sheath: Black Kydex belt sheath.
