Inspired by the trench knives carried in the World Wars of the 20th century, Cold Steel is updating the concept with some of the most fearsome historic blades to ever grace the battlefield.
The tanto blade is featured heavily in Japanese culture and associated with the samurai warrior caste. These deadly fighters often paired the shorter tanto with the infamous katana sword, wielding them to deadly effect against their opponents.
The western-style tanto featured on the 80NT Chaos Tanto provides a very strong point. It excels at stabbing, and being made of SK-5 carbon steel, it can stand up to plenty of abuse. It comes with a fantastic sharp edge right from the factory, so it is ready to rock straight out of the box.
The Chaos features a split D-ring handle constructed of 6061 aluminum. Not only does this signature trench knife feature protect the users hands from slippage and incoming attacks, it also provides a striking surface for combat situations. Likewise, the butt of the knife features a deadly tapered pommel to concentrate the percussive force of a hammering strike.
As good as the blade is, you need a way to carry it, so Cold Steel sees fit to supply a tough Secure-Ex sheath. Here at KnifeCenter, we especially appreciate that it is both MOLLE-Lok and Tek-Lok compatible. This rough-and-ready item also comes with adjustable Cor-Ex belt loops and retaining straps, ensuring maximum safety and retention. The sheath can also be customized to nearly any preferred attachment, thanks to extra grommets and slots along the edges.
