Overview
This knife by Ted Dowell features a mirror finished drop point blade with .165" blade stock, 1.141" blade depth, full tapered tang construction. The handle has maroon linen micarta scales. Comes with a brown leather sheath. Excellent condition.
This knife was an Auction Knife for the 2026 Oregon Knife Collectors Association Show in Eugene, Oregon.
It comes with a COA that says:
This knife, along with the other four in the series, was made from a Ted Dowell/TMD Knives hand-ground blade from the remaining blade inventory discovered when son Jeff Dowell dismantled the TMD shop in 2024 following Betty Dowell's Passing.
The red linen micarta handles were also created from Ted's shop inventory and were finished by Jeff Dowell as part of these five knives, which are co-marked with TMD buttons in the handles and the OKCA Show Knife etching on the blades. Jeff also added miscellaneous TMD-made sheaths from existing shop inventory. While these sheaths are not specifically matched to the individual knives, each was included to further extend the Ted-made elements of the offering.
These five knives are the only knives marked in this manner in existence, and as such, represent unique collectibles.
Finally, these five knives also introduce the first of a small number of father-son collaboration knives called "JTMD's", which i will create from the last remaining inventory of Ted-ground blades and handle materials in my possession. Those JTMD knives will be made available over the coming years through the www.tmdknives.com website.
Certified by Jeff Dowell and dated April 8, 2026.
