Overview
This Katana has tang stampings and a date of 1893. It has a polished blade with some scratches and oxidation spots, .249" blade stock and 1.161" blade depth. The blade has a nickel plated brass habiki, brass seppa and tsuba, cord wrapped tsuka-ito, brass fittings, white ray skin. Comes with a brown leather covered wooden saya. The handle is loose and has rattle, I made a new pin for the handle, it is not original, has scratches and oxidation, the blade is not sharp and doesn't have the typical geometry that a Japanese katana would normally have. Fair/poor condition. The consigner said he got it from a 92 year old man that had had it "forever". please let us know if you know anything about the tang markings or have any info on the maker.
