About the Maker

Poikilo Blade

The Story of Poikilo Blade (PKB) Poikilo Blade (PKB) is a knife company born from a shared passion and commitment to excellence. Founded in 2021 by two dedicated knife enthusiasts, Andy Wang and Vince Wang, our journey began long before the company’s official establishment. Andy has been deeply immersed in the knife world since 2007, starting as an avid collector and user with a keen eye for quality and craftsmanship. Vince, on the other hand, discovered his passion for knives in 2014, quickly developing an appreciation for their design and functionality. The two met serendipitously in 2016 through Instagram, united by their shared love of balisongs. What began as a shared interest blossomed into countless conversations about knives of all kinds—from traditional designs to the most innovative modern tools. The idea for Poikilo Blade was born from these conversations and a mutual desire to create something truly unique for the knife community. The name "Poikilo Blade" reflects this vision: inspired by the Greek word poikilos, meaning varied or diverse, it speaks to the wide range of designs, functions, and inspirations we strive to bring to our creations. At PKB, our mission is simple yet ambitious: to craft the finest cutlery for knife enthusiasts, collectors, and users worldwide. We believe that knives are more than tools—they are extensions of their users, expressions of individuality, and companions for life’s many adventures. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to listening. We value the voice of the community and actively seek feedback from our customers to refine and innovate. The knife world is dynamic, and we embrace change, adapting our designs and techniques to stay at the forefront of the industry. From cutting-edge (pun intended) materials to bold, nature-inspired designs, our products are crafted to exceed expectations and inspire confidence. As we continue to grow, our dedication to quality, creativity, and community remains at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re a seasoned collector, a practical user, or someone just beginning their journey into the knife world, we invite you to explore Poikilo Blade—where passion meets precision.

My name is Soso, I am a founder of "TASknives", which refers to my full name Tumasov-Asatiani Soso (TAS). I started knifemaking in 2016 - from a crude chunk of steel that I shaped into a knife with stitched leather handle. Before realising it, I was deep into the process of becoming a full time knifemaker. In 2018 I started showing my works in knife shows and have not stopped since. I always have support of family - my wife and 2 kids, they are the core. I wanted to make knives with unique designs but also fully functional as a versatile cutting tool. I use high quality steel, titanium, copper, G10, wood and many other mediums to create a very durable, functional and good looking knife. Beveling edges is the most challenging process of knife making but it is my favourite part. Compound grinding is my passion, I can turn a seemingly dull contour into a sharp defined one giving it character just by beveling geometry. One of my more unique processes is doing several layers of etching complete the vision of knife. I experiment a lot! And can create a unique curvature and grinding to make some of my more special models. The etching is also another favourite part, it truly makes each knife I produce an original as no two will be alike. Sarted as self-taught, all my skills and development are carried out through multitude of trial and error. Now as I grow in the knife community I exchange ideas with other makers to continually develop ways of improving in my craft. Every knife I make involves many hours to create my one-of-a-kind style while still making a functional knife.
