Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

After a little over 25 years, the Starmate is making a limited-edition, sprint run return! The collaborative efforts between Sal and Bob many moons ago have led to quite the impressive design — one that still stands out today for its innovation and utility.

This Knife

  • Blade: Modified clip point blade with a satin finish and hollow grind made from CPM 20CV steel.
  • Opener: Spyderco's ambidextrous Round Hole opener.
  • Handle: Black peel-ply-textured handle scales over nested, skeletonized steel liners.
  • Lock: Subtle and secure liner lock.
  • Carry: 4-position carry pocket clip.

Spyderco Starmate

The Bob Terzuola designed Starmate is an exciting classic that dates back to 1999! Now, the Starmate is back, and with some sweet improvements. The Starmate has been upgraded with CPM 20CV blade steel that locks up with the liner lock tab. The knife feels superb in hand, with the peel-ply-textured G-10 for grip along with the notches along the thumb ramp. This new iteration of the classic features a 4-position reversible clip and is made in America.

 

Comes with the original zipper case and papers. Excellent condition.

Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. Initially, the company focused on selling their first product the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker™, primarily at fairs and trade shows around the country. In 1981, the Glessers put down roots in Golden, Colorado and introduced the first Spyderco folding knife. Terzuola, Bob

Bob Terzuola was born in Brooklyn, New York and attended New York University. Upon graduation in 1967 he went to Panama as a Peace Corps trainer and later became a jade carver and gemologist in the Motagua River Valley, Guatemala. In 1979, Terzuola began making knives and joined the Knifemakers' Guild in 1981 on an endorsement from Bob Loveless. Terzuola's first knives were fixed blade designs made for soldiers in Guatemala. Later that year moved to New Mexico and began making folding knives. Seeing a need for a knife that could be carried discreetly, he developed a model featuring black micarta for the scales and bead-blasted titanium bolsters. Innovations in desgin for which he coined the term "Tactical Knife". Bob attends many of the largest and well known custom knife shows across the world. Bob Terzuola Knives are known for their trademark design and high quality workmanship. Terzuola's most popular model is the ATCF, a folding knife design. This was his first tactical folding knife, although he also makes it with non-tactical materials. Other knife models that Bob Terzuola is popular for are the 3A, TT-1, Model 7, Eagle Rock 514, TTF3A, Model 26, Starmate, TTF3B, Pathfinder, Century Starfighter, Starmate, Battle Guard, TTF6, Model 18 Combat Master, WEE T, and Battle Mate, just to name a few. Bob Terzuola also designed a very popular knife for Spyderco, the SLIPIT. The SPLIT is made of the finest non-locking tactical folders on the market. Bob Terzuola has authored a book about the design of tactical knives named, 'The Tactical Folding Knife.' When you hear people say that Bob Terzuola literally wrote the book on tactical folding knives, he really did! Many custom tactical knifemakers have his book in their shop, and highly value his opinions and designs. Bob Terzuola has also authored articles about tactical knives and knifemaking for Blade, Soldier of Fortune and other publications.
