Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

Overview

Imperial German Model 1889 Infantry Officer's sword and scabbard. The hilt is a gilded brass D shape guard with an oak and laurel leaf design. The pommel has a bearded face on the back edge and a monogram of TK on the top disc. The outer folding edge has the Imperial German eagle of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The grip is brass wire bound over brown bakelite with a brass cypher of the Kaiser in the centre. There is a leather fore finger loop on the inside of the guard and a black leather and silver wire sword knot attached to the knucklebow. The nickel plated straight blade has a double fuller on each side to 60 mm from the spear point and the ricasso is stamped with a kings head and a knights head over W.K & C. A red buff leather washer is fitted to the blade where it meets the guard.

Comes with a metal scabbard. Has a patina, and some scratches, excellent condition.

M. Neumann

"M. Neumann, Hoflieferant Berlin" was an elite maker of edged weapons like swords and daggers in Imperial Germany. "Hoflieferant" means they were an official royal supplier to the Prussian court. Max Neumann ran this famous shop from about 1890 to 1911. You will often see his name etched on antique German blades. [1, 2, 3, 4] The term "Hoflieferant" was highly respected. It meant the merchant provided goods directly to the royal family or the military court. It is similar to having an official stamp of approval from the King. [1, 2] M. Neumann was known for making very high-quality presentation swords. These were often special gifts for military officers or royalty. [1, 2, 3, 4] Features of Neumann swords: • The Mark: Usually reads "M. Neumann Hoflieferant Berlin" engraved on the spine or base of the blade. • The Materials: They frequently used premium materials like ray-skin/sharkskin handles, brass, and damascus steel. • The Look: Many featured eagle-head pommels and beautiful floral etchings
