Overview
The Military Surplus Soviet AKM Type II Bayonet is called the 6x4 Type II by the Russians. This bayonet was built to be used with the Kalashnikov 7.62 AKM and AK-47 Rifles. These were produced from 1965-86 at the Izhevsk and Tula Arsenals. The Type II scabbard has an orange plastic body, the brightly-colored plastic is often called "bakelight". The brown pebble-grained leather belt change and tan web retention strap are similar to those used on the 6x3 bayonet. The Military Surplus Soviet AKM Type II is your chance to buy a piece of history. This one has "1791" scribed on the handle by hand, not sure what that signifies, but the scabbard has the matching number. Has some scratches and patina, otherwise excellent condition.
