Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

Layaway Information

Layaway Policies

We offer a layaway plan on select products so you may pay for your order over a period of 60 days. Products that are eligible for layaway will show "Layaway Available: Yes" on the product page.

Here's how it works:

The total amount of the order excluding shipping, tax, or fees is divided into three (3) equal payments. The first payment is due with the order, the second payment is due 30 days later, and the final payment is due 60 days after the order.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee for layaway orders. This fee is added to the first payment along with the shipping and any tax. The first payment is made when the order is placed.

Example: Your order total is $300 plus $12.75 shipping and handling. If you select the layaway option, your payments would be:

  • $127.75 (1/3 of purchase = $100 + $15 layaway fee + $12.75 shipping)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)

If your initial payment is made by credit card, we will automatically process the 2nd and 3rd payments at the appropriate time using the same credit card information. You will be reminded via email that a payment will be charged. If you need to change this for any reason, please contact us.

For payments made other than credit card, payment must be received within seven (7) days of the due date or the order is subject to cancellation. You will receive a reminder via email that a payment is due.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for prepayment.

Additional products may be added to a layaway order without penalty. A new payment schedule will be calculated based on when additional products are added.

Cancellations of layaway orders are subject to a restocking/processing fee of 10% of the order total (not including tax and shipping costs). This restocking fee is in addition to the $15 non-refundable layaway fee.

Native 5 Lightweight OIR Knife Lottery for Active Duty U.S. Military

Spyderco's Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) commemorative knife is a unique, limited-edition version of our standard Native 5 Lightweight model that was specially created for our monthly military lottery drawing. This lottery began with the Native 4 Lightweight and has spanned Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Since we introduced the program in 2003, Spyderco has given away literally thousands of knives to forward-deployed U.S. military personnel to express our appreciation for their dedication, service, and sacrifice.

In June 2014, the United States launched Operation Inherent Resolve—a comprehensive strategy to degrade and defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, which includes the campaigns in Iraq and Syria. The launch of this operation roughly coincided with the release of Spyderco’s improved Native 5 Lightweight, so it was an appropriate time to renew our military lottery program with a new knife.

Proudly manufactured in our factory in Golden, Colorado, the Native 5 Lightweight OIR commemorative features a spear point blade made from premium CPM S30V stainless steel. Its full-flat grind, distal taper, textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp, and understated swedge collectively offer a distinctive appearance and outstanding edge geometry and point utility. The CombinationEdge™ blade features a handsome matte finish and is engraved (“Operation Inherent Resolve” and “We Pray for Your Safe Return.”

The blade is supported by a highly refined back lock mechanism that takes this time-tested lock design and elevates it to a new standard of engineering and manufacturing excellence. It is contained within a brown fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle that features Bi-Directional Texturing™ for an ultra-secure grip and reduces the overall weight of the knife to a mere 2.5 ounces. Threaded inserts molded directly into the FRN allow an improved hourglass clip to be positioned for left or right-side tip-up or tip-down carry. A generously sized lanyard hole also provides a handy attachment point for lanyards, fobs, and safety lines.

Spyderco manufactures these extraordinary knives to honor and thank our troops who go in harm's way to defend our Nation's values. They are ONLY available to forward-deployed U.S. military personnel through our monthly lottery drawing. They are not available for purchase.
