Overview
The Benarus Remora is a vintage-style boutique automatic tool-dive watch initially released by the independent microbrand Benarus in 2010–2011. Known for its exceptional build quality relative to its accessible price point, the Remora quickly became a cult favorite among dive watch collectors due to its short, limited production runs.

The Remora was designed as a highly durable, legible, and comfortable diving tool with a distinctive case profile:
- Case Dimensions: 42mm diameter (44mm wide including the cushion-style case silhouette), 12.5mm to 13mm thick, with 22mm lug width.
- Case Design: Features striking hooded lugs which mask the spring bars, creating a clean, seamless integration with the strap or bracelet.
- Movement: Powered by the smooth-sweeping, hacking Miyota 9015 automatic movement, which was brand new to the market at the time of the watch's release.
- Bezel: Highly scratch-resistant ceramic bezel insert featuring a luminous marker pip.
- Water Resistance: Rated for deep diving at 500 meters (50 ATM).
- Crystal: Flat, 3mm-thick scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
Generations and Variations
Benarus produced two main iterations of the watch before it was discontinued:
- Remora 1 (2010–2011): A strict limited run of only 150 units. It shipped in a leather travel case containing a heavy steel mesh bracelet and a natural Italian rubber dive strap. - Remora 2 (2011–2012): This second generation introduced a choice between blasted or brushed stainless steel finishes, dynamic new dial options (including full Arabic numerals or a "dartboard" style), and expanded dial colors like orange.
