The Winterblade Co. X-Folder, designed by Brian Winters, is an innovative folding pocketknife featuring a unique X-Lock mechanism and magnetic action.
Design & Locking Mechanism
X-Lock System: Utilizes a hybrid action combining elements of an axis-style and balisong mechanism. An internal handle frame pivots out during deployment and locks the blade securely when gripped by your hand.
Magnetic Detent: Uses magnets for a smooth deployment, crisp action, and to keep both the blade and inner handle closed when not in use.
Secondary Latch: Includes an optional physical latch/hook for added security during heavy-use tasks.
Safety Note: Due to its unconventional two-stage opening sequence and mechanical layout, users note it has a distinct learning curve and isn't ideal to hand to casual knife users.
