My knives are handmade, meaning all operations, from raw material to finished product, are controlled by hand. I start with the most basic of raw materials. A minimum of pre-manufactured parts are used (pivots and thumbstuds for folders being the main examples) and all work except heat treating is done in my shop. While there may be times when the knife or tool is not held in the hands during shaping (clamping down bar stock to the drill press for safety, for example) all operations are controlled by me. No CNC machines are used and nothing happens "automatically." The handmade aspect of quality cutlery is more important to some than others, but either way, I strive to give you the best product for your hard-earned money. All Schaller Knives carry a warranty against defects in materials and workmanship good for as long as I am able to make knives. This warranty does not cover abuse such as throwing, prying, etc.
