Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

Only One Available. World War II U.S. Army Air Force Type A-1 folding machete survival knife. Manufactured by Imperial Knife Co. Providence RI. as stamped on left ricasso. Adopted by the US Military in 1942 for the B-4 emergency bail out kit usually attached to the parachute harness. Checkered black plastic grip panels. There is a guard system built into machete. When closed, the metal guard protects the blade. When open, the guard flips closed to lock the blade in place. There is a release button for the guard that must be pushed to the release the guard and close the blade. Comes with original tan colored leather sheath with flap and belt loop. It is marked MACHETE WITH SHEATH / TYPE A-1 / NO. 48C3639. Has some scratches and oxidation, otherwise good condition for its age.

The Imperial Knife Company had its roots at the Empire Knife Company in Winsted, Connecticut. In 1916, two men named Felix and Michael Miranda moved from Frosolone Molise in Italy to Providence, Rhode Island to be near its jewelry industry and began making skeletons for “waldemar,” or pocket watch chain knives. With their friend Domenic Fazzano as manager, they established the Imperial Knife Company, which would grow to at one point be the largest knife manufacturer in the United States.The company developed a number of successful innovations in the manufacture of commercial value-priced folding pocket knives.
