Layaway Information

Layaway Policies

We offer a layaway plan on select products so you may pay for your order over a period of 60 days. Products that are eligible for layaway will show "Layaway Available: Yes" on the product page.

Here's how it works:

The total amount of the order excluding shipping, tax, or fees is divided into three (3) equal payments. The first payment is due with the order, the second payment is due 30 days later, and the final payment is due 60 days after the order.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee for layaway orders. This fee is added to the first payment along with the shipping and any tax. The first payment is made when the order is placed.

Example: Your order total is $300 plus $12.75 shipping and handling. If you select the layaway option, your payments would be:

  • $127.75 (1/3 of purchase = $100 + $15 layaway fee + $12.75 shipping)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)

If your initial payment is made by credit card, we will automatically process the 2nd and 3rd payments at the appropriate time using the same credit card information. You will be reminded via email that a payment will be charged. If you need to change this for any reason, please contact us.

For payments made other than credit card, payment must be received within seven (7) days of the due date or the order is subject to cancellation. You will receive a reminder via email that a payment is due.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for prepayment.

Additional products may be added to a layaway order without penalty. A new payment schedule will be calculated based on when additional products are added.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for early payment.

Cancellations of layaway orders are subject to a restocking/processing fee of 10% of the order total (not including tax and shipping costs). This restocking fee is in addition to the $15 non-refundable layaway fee.

Overview

Spyderco's Delica and Endura models are two of the most popular and widely used folding knives in history. These groundbreaking designs pioneered the concept of the lightweight, clip-carry, one-hand-opening folding knife and were instrumental in establishing injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) as a handle material.

Since their debut in 1990, the Delica and Endura Lightweights have steadily evolved to arrive at the current fourth-generation versions. Now available in a broad range of blade steels, grinds, edge configurations, and handle colors, these iconic models are considered by many to be about as perfect as working knives can be. But when it comes to knives, "perfect" is always in the eyes—and the hands—of the beholder.

To be honest, there really is no "one-size-fits-all" knife. Everyone's hand size and shape are slightly different, and each of us has our own preferred grips and working style. Similarly, the laws regarding blade length in the areas where we live and travel may limit the types of knives we carry. And when you get right down to it, for some folks the Delica may simply "seem" a little too small, while the Endura just "feels" a bit too big. That's ok because now there's a third option: the Endela.

Carefully designed to literally split the difference between the best-selling Endura 4 and Delica 4, the Endela faithfully maintains all the highly refined, time-tested features of each, but in the perfect "in-between" size. Its satin finished blade is crafted from HAP40 and SUS410 steel and proudly features a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole for ambidextrous one-hand opening. The full-flat-ground blade is available with a PlainEdge, and includes an area of jimping (textured grooves) just behind the Round Hole for a solid thumb purchase during use. Like its bigger and smaller brothers, the Endela's blade is supported by a sturdy back lock mechanism that includes a Boye Dent to help prevent unintentional lock release.

The Pakkawood material that makes up the scales combines the durability and stability of a phenolic laminate with the rich beauty of natural wood. Unlike natural wood, you won't have to worry so much about Pakkawood shrinking, expanding, or cracking. It is also much better suited to moisture than standard woods. Full stainless steel liners, backspacer, and lock back complete this durable little knife. A David Boye dent on the lock release makes it less susceptible to accidental disengagement.

No matter what exact form it takes, we are confident the Endela will prove to be a worthy companion to the Delica and Endura and a proud continuation of their legacy.

About the Maker

Spyderco
Spyderco

Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. Initially, the company focused on selling our first product the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker™,primarily at fairs and trade shows around the country. In 1981, the Glessers put down roots in Golden, Colorado and introduced the first Spyderco folding knife. That knife pioneered the concept of a round hole in the blade for one-handed opening, a clip on the handle for carry at the top of the pocket, and the option of a serrated edge for aggressive cutting performance. Those features revolutionized the knife industry and literally defined the form of the modern folding knife.Since then, Spyderco has steadily grown to become one of the leaders in the cutlery industry. In addition to a worldwide distribution network and manufacturing resources in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China, our innovation has also earned us an impressive portfolio of patents, trademarks, and industry awards. More importantly, it has allowed us to earn the trust and loyalty of countless thousands of dedicated knife users around the world—an audience to whom we are extremely grateful.
