Overview
The Vanguard V4477E1 Roach flipper by Kizer Cutlery is a collaborative project between Kizer and custom knifemaker Matt Degnan. It features a nice, wide 3.5" N690 steel blade with a utilitarian drop point shape and large finger choil to choke up on. The bearing pivot system allows for smooth blade opening, as with all Kizer knives, and the action is quick, snappy and authoritative. The smooth black G10 handle has a solid, stout feeling and is extremely ergonomic. It features a titanium spring pocket clip, stainless steel liners and is sure to become an everyday carry favorite in no time since it's priced well below its design and quality levels.
Kizer uses high-tech wire EDM machines to cut the parts. This method is slower than laser or water jet but feel the quality is worth the wait. Each component in Kizer knives are precision machined and engineered to the finest tolerances. The final fit, finish, action and sharpness of each knife are achieved entirely by hand, employing the irreplaceable craftsmanship developed by generations of cutlery masters.
