Layaway Information

Layaway Policies

We offer a layaway plan on select products so you may pay for your order over a period of 60 days. Products that are eligible for layaway will show "Layaway Available: Yes" on the product page.

Here's how it works:

The total amount of the order excluding shipping, tax, or fees is divided into three (3) equal payments. The first payment is due with the order, the second payment is due 30 days later, and the final payment is due 60 days after the order.

There is a $15 non-refundable fee for layaway orders. This fee is added to the first payment along with the shipping and any tax. The first payment is made when the order is placed.

Example: Your order total is $300 plus $12.75 shipping and handling. If you select the layaway option, your payments would be:

  • $127.75 (1/3 of purchase = $100 + $15 layaway fee + $12.75 shipping)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)
  • $100.00 (1/3 of purchase = $100)

If your initial payment is made by credit card, we will automatically process the 2nd and 3rd payments at the appropriate time using the same credit card information. You will be reminded via email that a payment will be charged. If you need to change this for any reason, please contact us.

For payments made other than credit card, payment must be received within seven (7) days of the due date or the order is subject to cancellation. You will receive a reminder via email that a payment is due.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for prepayment.

Additional products may be added to a layaway order without penalty. A new payment schedule will be calculated based on when additional products are added.

If you wish to complete payment early and have your order shipped, you may contact us at any time during the 60 day period. There is no penalty for early payment.

Cancellations of layaway orders are subject to a restocking/processing fee of 10% of the order total (not including tax and shipping costs). This restocking fee is in addition to the $15 non-refundable layaway fee.

Overview

The Resolute® MkIII camping / trail / survival knife was designed to be a 'jack-of-all-trades' knife for the outdoorsman. This knife will carve wood, prepare food, butcher game, and split firewood with ease.

The blade is made from supremely tough A2 tool steel, which in my testing has been shown to be able to take more abuse than any reasonable person would want to put it through. The tang of the blade is skeletonized to remove unnecessary weight and improve balance, while the blade geometry itself is designed to emphasize cutting performance while still being tough. The blade is coated with DLC, an ultra-tough and highly wear resistant coating that will stay looking great for a long time and help protect the blade from corrosion.

The handle is made from an extremely durable and water-resistant composite material called G10. It's a high-pressure laminate made from fibreglass cloth and epoxy resin. It's highly impact and UV resistant, is not affected by water exposure, provides great grip and cleans easily. The handle is attached to the tang of the blade with stainless steel bolts, ensuring that it will never fail when you need it.

The integrated window-breaker on the butt of the handle adds to the knife's utility in a survival situation while not detracting from grip comfort.

The thermoformed Kydex sheath retains the knife even under the most gruelling conditions without the need for cumbersome clips or straps, and offers a range of carry and mounting options, PALS/MOLLE compatibility, and more.

Each knife is individually engraved with a serial number and my makers mark when it is completed.

About the Maker

Gough, Aaron

My name is Aaron Gough, I own and run Gough Custom and I am also the sole employee! I have been interested in making things ever since I was a young child. My Father loved working on cars and my Mother was an avid Potter and Ceramic Artist. Between them there was very few things they couldn't fix, and they helped shape my love for making beautiful, functional, things. The things I make are not designed to sit on a shelf and look pretty, they are designed to be admired while you use them. To feel comfortable and look great when you use them. They are made from simple, durable, materials that will withstand a lifetime of everyday use. I started out making things for myself. If I didn't like the way a pen felt, the way a knife functioned, or the way a guitar amp sounded I would always be tempted to make a version of it that I felt was as close to ideal as possible. After a while these designs started becoming realities, and as soon as other people saw the things I had made they started asking how I made them and if they could have one... Everything just sort of grew from there. Today I specialize in designing and making high performance working knives, based out of my workshop in Toronto, Canada. I put a huge amount of effort and care into every knife, and every part of my process is continually being refined to allow me to push my quality higher and higher. My logo is my signature because I will never deliver anything that I would not wish to have associated with my name. My signature is on every item I sell because I personally make each one. I am able to stand behind each one because I build things to last, not to maximize profit.
