Overview
Sidney R. Baxter & Co. Boston Ma. made industrial machine knives. They also made "combat knives" during World War Two. One design was a blade inserted into a "mill file" handle. They used brass guards and pommels with red fiber slab handles on most of the fighting knives. Other than the photos in various books, Cole, Silvey etc.
This one has a satin finished blade with false top edge, .060" blade stock and 1.192" blade depth, hidden tang construction. The handle has a brass guard and butt with integral frame, red fiber scales with brass pins. The red fiber looks alot like some sort of paper micarta. Has scratches and patina, has been sharpened, otherwise good condition for its age.
