Overview
This is the first Mega Griffon ever offered for sale on the Stag Shop, this particular one is a beast of another color. Brass! Named for the mythological creature fabled to fiercely protect its treasures, it just seemed fitting to hone in on the Gold and Silver tones.
Always meaning to go back to a skeletonized brass overlay linerlock after having built one years ago, Dave finally got it done with this folder. Essentially a super sized griffon, the blade shape on this one has been modified into a stepped profile and further complicated with a duplex compound grind for interest. Built as a super burly titanium linerlock, the brass scales have been gauged so neither side is thicker than the other. Most visually noticeable with these scales, of course, is the "windows" that have been milled through and offer a view of the orange peel textured titanium below. That function was two fold... both to reduce the weight of the folder by removing heavy material, but to also provide a perfect spot to anodize the "Kingdom" logo on the presentation side.
A hand-fabricated titanium clip and matching brass backspacer completes the build.
Folder will ship in a hand sewn felt velize and hard cased.
Has a couple light scuffs, otherwise excellent condition.
