Overview
This WWI C.G. Haenel Suhl German Bayonet features a spear point blade with fullers, .260" blade stock and .784" blade depth, hidden tang construction. The handle has a steel guard and frame with wood scales. Has hallmarks and "W03" on the spine of the blade. Has hallmarks near the butt and on the guard. Has "125 R.I.2 58" on the guard. Has some scratches and some patina, otherwise good condition for its age. This is the bayonet for the 8mm Mauser Gewehr 98. The long slender blade was often called "Quillback" or "Pipeback" blades due to the round spine that runs through the blade like the quill of a feather.
