Before founding MKC, Josh Smith spent 10 years as a lineman. He’d work the lines, strip and connect wire, and watch countless $30 knives chip, dull, and disappear off bucket trucks. When Josh started sharpening his crew’s disposable blades, they complained they were “too sharp”… until they realized how much effort they’d been wasting with dull edges.
This gave Josh an idea: What if linemen had a wire-skinning knife that was actually worth a damn? The Great Falls Skinner is that knife.
Born from Josh’s 10 years as a lineman, crafted with MKC’s uncompromising standards, and named for Great Falls, Montana, which you may have heard dubbed “the Electric City” for its hydroelectric dams, the Great Falls Skinner is the first premium wire skinning knife designed for professionals who refuse to treat their tools as disposable.
