Overview

Note from seller:

"My company is Cuttin-Time International and I began in the knife business as a collector about 20 years ago. For a few years I bought and sold on a site called Blade Auction, however, it ended up closing and at that point I just became an avid collector of knives by makers that I thought made beautiful and unique knives such as Copeland, Minnick, Vallotton, Schoeman, Huckabee, Harris and Carter to name a few.

A few years ago, I was introduced by one of my makers to a new maker named Tahar and found his work as exciting and commissioned him to make knives solely for my company. My intention was to have a website, however, an accident caused me to become disabled and I was just unable to continue with my plan. I have now accumulated more than 100 pieces of Tahar's work and decided to sell them on Arizona Custom Knives because of the job Julie and Chris have done with many knives I have previously consigned them. Last year, I sent Tahar to the knife show in New York where his work was displayed for the first time. It was here that Master Smith Jay Hendrickson stopped at his table and admired his work, in fact, wrote a letter addressing the quality of Tahar's ability. Please enjoy his craft as it is surely an art."

About the Maker

Raza, Tahar

Tahar has been making his own damascus since 1995 and now creates his own sole-authorship fixed blades and folding knives. Tahar's shop is currently located in Maryland. Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson said in 2009 that he was ""impressed with all of his damascus work"" and ""I believe he has a lot of potential as a knifemaker."" In 2011, Wm. C. Johnson was so impressed with Tahar's damascus on display in Las Vegas that he purchased two billets to use in his own work. One of Tahar's knives was voted ""Best Damascus"" at the Texas Knife Show in April 2011.
