Knife making for me is an escape, an outlet for creative thoughts otherwise stifled by daily life. Its a journey from raw ugly steel, bone and wood to works of art. I?ve never been accused of being talented until I pull out one of my knives. I want my knives to be used, to be out in the woods and on the water that I have bow hunted and fished my whole life. My family surfs, camps, mountain bikes, dives.......there is not much we don?t do and if our pants are on we have a knife somewhere. I believe you should ALWAYS take a knife to a gun fight (guns jam) and it better be sharp and durable. I first and foremost aim for performance in my work, shape and usefulness of profile, blade bevel geometry, strength in the material and a little beauty thrown in as well.
