Shipping Policy

Any customers with separate shipping and billing addresses are subject to follow up contact. If no contact can be made, your order will be cancelled. Please understand that this policy is to protect our customers from fraud and theft.

Shipping costs are calculated automatically when you checkout. Orders to P.O. Boxes or military addresses require shipping via USPS.

Orders placed by 3:00pm EST will be shipped the same day. All orders shipped USPS (including Express) may take an additional business day to process and ship. We strongly recommend shipping UPS if you need guaranteed delivery by a certain date.

For our international customers, you must call or email after ordering to arrange for duties/customs and declarations before we will ship your order. USPS Express International shipments with declarations greater than $200, incur an additional $15.00 fee for postage/insurance.

Overview

This 30" Shobu Zukuri L6 Bainite Katana by Howard Clark features a satin finished blade with hamon and copper habaki, .253" blade stock and 1.290" blade depth, hidden tang construction. The handle has a a blued steel heavy weight moku tsuba and blued fuchi/kashira, Japanese style navy blue silk wrap over stingray skin and long snake menuki, blackened seppa and black same-kawa. Come with a black Saya with black lacquered rattan, horn fittings and navy blue sageo. Excellent condition.

About the Maker

Clark, Howard

Howard Clark is 'Omimi', a most sought after maker of Japanese style sword blades. The creator of the L6 Banite Katana which is hands down the highest performance sword blade in the world. Omimi-san has been a bladesmith for over 30 years. Early on he mastered forging, damascus, and distal symmetry. As Morgan Valley Forge Howard produces knives with organic flow and keen balance. Howard delved deep into the science of metallurgy. Teaching himself how to read isothermal transformation diagrams he began the journey to create what he desired as the best blade. One that was tough; would not chip, crack or break. One that was hard enough to hold it’s edge for prolonged use and still be able to be re-sharpened. Through his research it is said Howard broke more blades deliberately than most knife-makers made. With known steel alloys, controlled temperatures, the test of the metal was in the heat treatment.
