Overview

James Luman is well-known and well-respected for the quality of his knives and especially for his own forged Damascus. The same Damascus pattern, which for this piece is Loops and Filigree, is used for the blade, the single guard and the buttcap. Fully enclosed full tang in a very nice stabilized maple burl handle with a gentle contour making it quite comfortable to hold. The spacer is really nice. As with all of Jim's knives, this one is made to be used with a 3/16 inch blade thickness and approximately 1 inch blade width. Blade Steel: 1084/L6/Nickel - Luman Forged Damascus

About the Maker

Luman, James R.

I made my first knife around 1985 while studying under Bob Terzuola. From that time on I have continued to perfect the skills I had learned while also developing new techniques.I have had a great deal of training in hand-to-hand combat as well as wilderness survival skills, and accordingly most of my knives are hunting or combat/tactical knives. Since I design my knives to be used, I use ATS34, 440C and my own Damascus, each of which performs extremely well in the field. Each of my fixed blade knives has a full tang, making them very durable. I design my knives to be both extremely functional and to feel good in your hand."
