Overview

This Premier Grade Torque Converter features a hollow ground, hand-rubbed blade and black canvas micarta handle with amboyna burl inlays. 1/4" blade thickness and 1 3/4" blade depth. Professionally heat treated by MET-TEK with a triple temper and cryogenic soaked to a Rockwell hardness of 59-60. Sharpened top edge. Notched thumbrest.

"Premier grade knives feature a labor intensive hand rubbed satin finish on the flats of the blade, and a scotch brite finish in the hollow grind, which is then lightly buffed to attain an attractive sheen."

"The micarta handle slabs are adhered to the tang using industrial epoxy, sealing out moister. Titanium tubing is used for its strength, light weight and non-corrosive properties. Not only does it provides a distinct look to the knives, but its prime function is to prevent handle separation during lateral flex of the knife should it occur. The titanium tubing is flared into the canvas micarta under pressure, to provide an indestructible bond."

"Using an innovative scuba webbing platform for mounting, the sheath can be worn in 3 positions. The normal thigh rig length gives excellent flexibility for getting in and out of vehicles, or squatting around a fire without the bottom of your sheath getting in the dirt. The drop sheath attachment can be removed to raise the sheath to a standard drop position, giving a little higher wear to the knife."

Outstanding fit and finish. A pleasure to hold. Direct from maker. Blade Steel: CPM S30V @ 59-60 RC

About the Maker

Sibert, Shane

"I started making knives in 1994 with the idea of creating blade ware that is simple, practical and efficient. I have been a full-time knifemaker since 2004. Keeping with the theme of practicality, I avoid large metal guards, bolsters and heavy pommels to keep the knives balanced and agile in the hand. Materials have been carefully selected to ensure optimal edge retention and low maintenance. Although the knives incorporate slim handle slabs to decrease unwanted bulk and weight, the handles contour the hand for a synergistic fit. I strive to hold myself to high quality and design standards and produce a knife that will invoke pride of ownership and at the same time perform the task that it was designed for with exceptional ease."
