Williamson, Paul
"I started my career in precision engineering in 1987 and used various types of machinery making a wide range of products in metals, plastics and composites for the marine and aerospace industries. Having gained these skills I decided to pursue my interest in custom knives and made my first knife in 1996. I made a handful of different types of knives over the next few years and found myself drawn towards integral knives. I knew this was what I wanted to do so I set up my own workshop. I prefer to work with stainless tool steel, stainless Damascus, Titanium alloys, and like to use natural materials for handle scales. My knives are precision machined on a manual milling machine, then meticulously shaped and finished by hand. This is a very time consuming and labor intensive process but I believe that the end result is worth the effort. I custom machine all handle bolts, and do all my own leather work. All knives leaving my workshop have been professionally heat treated, fully tested and certified free from any flaws/defects of any kind in a metallurgical laboratory. This serves as a guarantee that all knives are fit for purpose and ready to serve the owner a lifetime of trouble free use. All knives are a "one off" unless otherwise stated giving the owner a knife that is something special and unique."
