Forged in Patagonia

Hello from the mountains of Patagonia! Greetings from Oskar and Kristin. We are the owners of Forged in Patagonia, and we live in a small cabin nestled in the Andes. Not far away from our house is a wooden blacksmithing shop we built in the forest. It's there that Oskar makes hand forged high carbon steel knives. A knifemaker for over a decade, Oskar is an alchemist and an innovator at heart. He loves working with metal because for him, it's like space-travel. It allows him to work with the same elements present in stardust galaxies away. He also loves knowing his unique handmade knives will last far longer than he will. Many will become family heirlooms. Sustainability and environmental awareness are very important to us. We live very rustic lives close to nature. Oskar strives to create his handcrafted knives as sustainably as possible by gathering fallen wood in the forests for handles and repurposing steel and other elements whenever possible. He also avoids heavy chemicals and heavy machinery, preferring to create his forged knives the way these blades have traditionally been made—by hand.
