High Desert Blade Works

In the knife industry, quality has never mattered more. New technologies have empowered customers to seek out and compare an endless array of products from around the globe. Combining quality craftsmanship with innovative design (form fitting function) has moved High Desert Blade Works (HDBW) to the very front edge of that power curve. Toward the end of COVID-19 in the early months of 2021, business professional Thomas Gomez and renowned blade designer Steve Tarani began initial conversations about forming a joint venture that would bring discontinued high-quality blade and related hardware designs back to market along with new edged tools of enduring quality and durability. Thomas Gomez, the founder and CEO of High Desert Rifle Works is an avid hunter and precision rifle expert who provides quality products, training, and consulting services throughout the shooting community and is additionally engaged in the Healthcare and Agricultural industries in the areas of data analytics and process improvement. Serving the US Defense, Intelligence, and Law Enforcement communities for over 35 years, Steve Tarani is a former US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee, Protective Programs Educator, formerly sworn and formerly on staff at the US DOE National Security Institute (Security Force Training Dept.) at Kirkland Air Force Base (NM). Tarani is a respected edged tools designer (Strider Knives, Buck Knives, Benchmade Knives, 5.11, BladeTech, and others,) has an extensive FMA background, and is also the architect of the International Chiefs of Police (IACP) Model Policy (and accompanying Training Key) on the carry and usage of knives by federal, state and municipal peace officers. When Thomas and Steve put their concept to paper, it made sense, and they moved forward with the aid of industry giants such as Duane Dwyer of Dwyer Custom Goods (DCG), a founder of Strider Knives. Combining such tremendous talent and resources, High Desert Blade Works was born and swiftly brought to the forefront of the quality blade manufacturing community. Moving forward, High Desert Blade Works is fully committed to ongoing development and sales of quality knives and hardware that are the best in their class.
