Kaspary, Alexandre

My name is Alexandre Hentges Kaspary, and I am a native of São João do Oeste, located in the far west of Santa Catarina, Brazil. I grew up in a rural environment that provided me with an early exposure to tools such as knives, machetes, and scythes. My journey in cutlery began in May 2018 when I forged my first knife. Despite my initial background in Information Technology, I found a unique way to reconcile this field with cutlery, maintaining a job in IT at the same time. However, it was in 2021 that I decided to dedicate myself entirely to the art of bladesmithing, leaving behind a career in Information Technology to pursue my true passion. Throughout this journey, I had the incredible opportunity to learn from two respected master bladesmiths, Marco Borchardt and Vinicius Lapinski. Their guidance and knowledge significantly enhanced my skills, allowing me to evolve as a craftsman. Additionally, I am honored to be a member of the Gaucha Cutlery Association and the American Bladesmith Society. These associations not only provide a valuable network of contacts but also represent a commitment to the highest standards of excellence in the art of cutlery. With each piece I forge, I aim not only to create a functional knife but also a work of art that tells a story. Every curve, every detail reflects not only my technical skill but also my passion for tradition and quality. I am excited about what the future holds for my journey in cutlery. The pursuit of perfection and constant evolution are the driving forces behind my work. I am grateful to be able to share my passion with other enthusiasts and to continue exploring the boundaries of this centuries-old art.
