My name is Paul Rasp and I began my knifemaking journey in 2010 after 20 years of being a knife collector. When I got started I figured my shop needed a name so I used the first initial from each of my children’s names as my shop name and logo. I am currently a part time knifemaker and I produce between 50 and 100 knives per year depending on the amount of shop time I get. I use various methods to produce my work including stock removal and forging depending on the material and what I am trying to accomplish. I use all different kinds of steels from the latest material like Magnacut to the classic carbon steels. If you see any damascus, san mai go mai etc.. in my work it was produced by myself in my shop. All of my work is 100% done by me from scratch. I do not own or use any type of CNC equipment or precut materials. I also produce all of my own leather work. I recently had an opportunity to compete on Forged in Fire. It is season 9 episode 6. I am writing this about a week before the episode airs so I will return and update it with the results of the competition.
