Prometheus Design Werx Special Products Division is proud to offer up a pair very limited variations of the Invictus Alpha. Those familiar with Prometheus Design Werx, know that they occasionally work with custom makers to bring an ultra-high-quality, limited edition version of some of their products. Built by hand in South Africa by Gareth Bull, these are some of the finest all-around knives we've seen in a long time.
The Invictus Alpha folder design is an instantly recognizable aesthetic and styling, characteristic of a purpose-driven, lifelong design direction, and ethos. This folder is inspired by and takes its design cues from the tried and trued millennia old spear point blade silhouettes, to the tapered capsule shapes, streamlined arcs, and the purposeful fluting and texturing of the modern machine age as found in high-grade tools to precision barrels. Coming in at a mid-sized blade length, this folder is a perfect example of a handmade edged tool for users and collectors who prefer a 3.5" blade length in their folding knives. The SAR Edition Invictus Alpha features a fully contoured custom-made titanium handle with orange G10 scale and titanium bolster on the presentation side. The hand ground blade is made from Elmax stainless steel with the PDW trademark fuller, SPD logo, custom maker's mark, and a very uniform hand rubbed satin finish. Other features include deep cut handle fullers, a milled titanium pocket clip, a hidden lanyard pin (for 3 mm cord), and secure robust jimping through-out. There isn't a task in the world we can't imagine this knife excelling, it's a superb quality piece that is also highly collectible as only a very few number were ever made.
About the Special Projects Division
The Prometheus Design Werx "Special Projects Division" is tasked with creating experimental runs, limited production editions, collaborations, tackling unusual design challenges, and creating unexpected but useful results that may often change and/or improves the nature of things in a particular context. Anyone of their product categories may feature a Special Project when available.
From quickly exploring a spontaneously generated idea, working with small cottage industries, individual craftsmen to specialized requests from units and groups, our Special Projects Division's responsibilities are to design and create these limited edition products. They work to fulfill the needs of the company and the client. When you see the special SPD logo used by Prometheus Design Werx, it means that the product it is found on is limited in quantity, a unique iteration, experimental, special request, and/or a finite production run. Should demands and available conditions allow for subsequent higher volume runs for an SPD edition present themselves, the company may elect to move this program into the main fleet of products under the standard PDW logo.
PDW created this division to allow them to move swiftly and with agility in pursuing certain creative outputs. From time to time expect the unexpected, recognize the unique nature of these exclusive designs, and apply them to your life as you see fit.
