Bill Bagwell extremely rare "Stygian Damascus" Combat Bowie with ripple pattern named after the River Styx, double brass guard, stag handle, wrist thong, scarce marking seen on the leather keeper strap of the original leather scabbard, the name BAGWELL at the top of the sheath is Bill's own hand writing as well, made in Vivian, LA. This particular knife is the very first one that was made with a "true" pattern welded Damascus blade in January 1974. Incidentally this knife came from the original owner who happen to own Bill's very first created Damascus knife was made in December 1973 as a Bowie that bears his name on the guard which can be seen in the Special Limited Numbered Edition book on Bill Bagwell which is included in the sale. Book # 13/24. Exceptional knife of historical significance. Comes with the newly release hard cover limited collector's edition book on Bill Bagwell with over 485 pictures in a 204-page work.
Has a Damascus blade with sharpened top edge, .348" blade stock and 1.374" blade depth, hidden tang construction. The handle has a brass guard and stag grip with black/brass spacers and a lanyard hole. Comes with original brown leather sheath. Excellent condition.
